Within three days of your arrival, you must register with the Department of Foreign Travel and Exit (OVIR) in the local district. The three days include Saturdays and Sundays. When checking into a hotel, you will be required to present your passport. The hotel personnel will return your passport and finish the registration process. You will be penalized for each day you are late if you do not register within three days of entering the nation.
